Strategic Therapeutics is a premier source of training and education for health economic and outcomes research (HEOR). Our team includes nationally and internationally recognized experts in health economics, with extensive expertise developing and conducting educational conferences and interactive training session programs.
Our HEOR training content is designed to meet the need of all learners, ranging from general content for those new to HEOR or needing a refresher, to specialized programs in advanced modeling. Tailored programs are developed to the meet the specific needs of pharmaceutical companies and managed care organizations.
Cutting-edge teaching materials are utilized, as well as interactive exercises and workshops, using both live and distance learning formats for program delivery.
Strategic Therapeutics offers virtual and in-person customized training programs designed specifically to meet the needs of your organization.
Programs may vary in length from 2 hour webinars to half- or multi-day in-person programs held in Tucson or at another location. Examples may be tailored to relevant therapeutic areas of interest. Company-specific models may be incorporated in teaching materials.

"This was very helpful. All of the workshop sections really clarified the take-home points."
"Excellent learning environment."
"Very good basic/introduction to HEOR. Should be required for all MS."
"Excellent program. I especially enjoyed the interactive/application based presentations."
This training program is designed for professionals whose job responsibilities include applying or interpreting pharmacoeconomic information. The curriculum is suited to individuals with entry to intermediate knowledge level, and offered in two parts.
Part 1 focuses on principles and methods then takes participants into application along with more in-depth concepts. Part 2 builds upon the earlier foundation taking the learner to additional advanced applications, more “real world” application, and commences with the design, delivery, and message sharing of pharmacoeconomic studies.
Parts 1 and 2 include interactive lectures, case studies, hands-on workshops, and small group discussion. A few examples of the curriculum include:
Part 1
Pharmacoeconomic principles & methods
Real-world evidence
Decision analysis modeling
Patient-reported outcomes
Pharmacoeconomic data sources
Evaluating pharmacoeconomic studies
Budget impact analysis
Value frameworks
Part 2
Building decision analysis expertise
Pearls in using databases
Performance-based risk sharing
Markov models
Value-based pricing
Using ICER reports to make decisions
Designing and conducting studies
"Overall a great course for anyone new to the Health Economics world!"
"I have been wanting to take this class for the last 3-4 years but taking a full week out to go to [an in-person program] is tough, so I jumped on the chance to take it virtually...a better fit for many folks like myself to get the 'basics' down. THANK YOU!"
"Thank you for organizing this very valuable course. I would certainly recommend it to other professionals in the field."
"Surprisingly the virtual session did allow for a lot of interaction. I am interested in additional training offerings."
"The overall program was excellent, especially for my organization. I believe implementation of these concepts will eventually bridge HEOR communication gap between MCOs and industry."
Registration is now open for our 2-day advanced cost-effectiveness modeling program.
Here’s your chance to learn how cost-effectiveness models work without the cost of graduate school! Bring your laptop and join us May 20-21, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona for hands-on workshops that explain and demystify how cost-effectiveness analyses are constructed, analyzed, and interpreted. Workshop activities will be conducted using Microsoft Excel.
